John GilmoreJohn Gilmore was born and raised in Aransas Pass, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1976 and received his law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1979.

He then went into private practice until 1982 when he joined the District Attorney’s office for the 36th Judicial District. In 1988, he became the prosecutor for the Tri-County Narcotics Task Force. He held this position until 1994 when he resumed private practice.

His private practice has focused on criminal defense. John is licensed to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas and U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Corpus Christi Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas and the American Bar Association.

He was selected as the Criminal Defense Lawyer of the year by the Corpus Christi Bar Association’s Criminal Defense Section in 2000 and 2008. He has tried hundreds of felony criminal cases to a jury, with many of those being high profile cases drawing media interest.
